Buyer Beware of Wormald Homes

One homeowner’s documented experience with hidden moisture concerns, mold-related health issues, and the cost of seeking answers.

Why we created this website

We purchased a newly built home from Wormald after relying on the company’s representations regarding quality construction, safety, and customer service. Within weeks of moving in, members of our family began experiencing unexplained health problems. As our investigation progressed, we discovered what we believe were significant construction defects that allowed water intrusion and hidden mold contamination.

Nearly five years later, our family is still living with the financial, physical, and emotional consequences.

This website documents our experience through photographs, reports, correspondence, timelines, and other supporting materials. Our goal is to document our experience, educate prospective homebuyers, help other homeowners recognize potential warning signs, and provide the information we wish we had before purchasing a new home from Wormald.

The information presented on this website reflects our experience and is supported by documents, photographs, inspection reports, correspondence, and other evidence. Some matters discussed on this website remain the subject of ongoing legal proceedings, and disputed issues continue to be addressed through those proceedings.

Mandatory binding arbitration is often promoted as a faster and less expensive alternative to litigation. Our experience has been different. These counters illustrate how long our claims have remained pending in mandatory arbitration compared with our separate court case, as well as the length of time our family has been unable to live in our home.
